Activities at RiverCamps

If water is your love, you will be able to fish, crab, boat or sail to your heart's content...or spend the day lounging on some of the world's most beautiful beaches, just 10 miles away. The opportunities for outdoor exploration, relaxation and fun in the RiverCamps community are truly limitless. The Panama City Beach area is much more than the beach - offering fine dining options and shopping experiences from national retailers.

Boating and Fishing

Area Activities

You can enjoy kayaking, canoeing and excellent fishing right in the backyard of your community in one of the three bodies of water surrounding RiverCamps—Crooked Creek and the spectacular 18,000-acre expanse of West Bay, or the Intracoastal Waterway, which provides access to the Gulf of Mexico. Alongside the main channel of Crooked Creek in a large protected boat basin, is the RiverCamps boat ramp for launching and day-docking of various types of boats (flats, skiffs, Jon boats, kayaks and canoes).

Should your wander lust take you further asea, you can enjoy Choctawhatchee Bay, St. Andrews Bay, and one of the 17 area freshwater and saltwater lakes, providing unmatched opportunities for water sports. Located 21 miles southeast of RiverCamps, Bay Point Marina in Panama City Beach offers fishing, boating, Jet Skiing, swimming, sailing, snorkeling and off-shore charter boating.

Frank Brown Park

Area Activities

Open year-round, Frank Brown Park features more than two-hundred acres dedicated to outdoor recreation facilities including: baseball, football and soccer fields, playgrounds, tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts, shuffle-board courts, an aquatic center, picnic areas, a saltwater fishing pier, freshwater youth fishing lake, and 1.5 miles of greenways and trails. Frank Brown Park is approximately 1 mile from Breakfast Point approximately 7 miles to the Wild Heron Community, and approximately 11 miles to RiverCamps on Crooked Creek.

Golf

Area Activities

Looking for challenging and outstanding golf courses? Designed by Greg Norman and located in the heart of the Wild Heron community, Shark's Tooth was named one of "America's Best Residential Courses" by Golfweek. Named "Course of the Millennium" by Travel + Leisure magazine, Camp Creek® Golf Club, is a Tom Fazio-designed, 18-hole, par-72 championship course measuring 7,159 yards. It's located about 11 miles west of RiverCamps and 7 miles west of the Wild Heron community. The OriginsSM Golf Club, which is within the WaterSound® Origins community is 11 miles west of RiverCamps and 7 miles west of the Wild Heron community, offers a six-hole regulation course that alternatively plays as a nine-hole executive course and a 10-hole par-three layout.

Shopping

Area Activities

 Pier Park® is the premier shopping destination in Panama City Beach and surrounding areas. It features upscale, open-air shopping, dining and entertainment, including national brands as well as unique and locally owned shops. Silver Sands, the nation's largest designer outlet center with over 100 designer name stores is approximately 40 miles to the west toward Destin.

The Beach

Stroll down silky white sand, collecting sea shells as you go, or take a swim in the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Whatever you decide to do, the beautiful beaches of the Emerald Coast are less than two miles from the Breakfast Point community, approximately 11 miles from the RiverCamps community, and approximately 2 miles from the Wild Heron community . The Emerald Coast offers 80 miles of pristine white-sand beaches stretching along the Gulf of Mexico. This sand is made up of pure Appalachian quartz and reflects the sunlight through the surf, giving the water its beautiful emerald-green color.
